Our initial two sessions focus on goal setting and understanding what you hope to get out of the coaching process. We talk about current relationship problems and/or personal issues after which a custom program is created just for you.

Results oriented
Coaching is present and future oriented and to that end I will be giving you tools and strategies to meet your current and future relationship goals using an Attachment theory framework. Handouts and worksheets are an integral part of the work we will do to get faster results.

Explorative
Personal development work by its very nature invites us to look deeply into ourself. Sharing vulnerably during sessions is important so we that we can feel seen, heard and understood. We will examine how our thoughts, beliefs, feelings and behaviors affect ourselves and our relationships. We will learn about our triggers, needs, emotional patterns, coping mechanisms, boundaries and how to communicate more effectively.

FAQs
How does coaching differ from therapy?
Coaching and therapy are similar yet different. The same problems can be brought to both settings but in psychotherapy, you may spend more time unpacking past experiences and trauma over an ongoing period of time. Coaching focuses on where you are in the present and what your goals are for the future and creates actionable steps to achieve them. Coaching tends to be more time limited and includes pychoeducation. For couples coaching I practice something called Therapeutic Coaching using Relational Life Therapy which is a blend of coaching and some therapy that involves understanding your Family of Origin and relational trauma stemming from that. The trauma is identified to help you understand your present situation but we do not go into it in detail as a therapist would. As a coach I do not work from a medical model like a therapist, and I cannot diagnose any mental health conditions. What about confidentiality?
You privacy is very important to me and you will sign a document that states your information will not be shared in any way without your permission.
What is the financial investment?
Please contact me directly for more information. Payment is accepted via Venmo or Zelle. I offer a sliding scale so that nobody has to go without the help they need. In addition I offer a limited scholarship option for those whose financial circumstances preclude them from getting coaching services.
Do you take insurance?
The coaching industry is not recognized as a health care provider and therefore coaches cannot bill under health care insurances.
How long does it take to see results?
This depends on a number of variables: how often you have sessions, how invested you are to do the work, how disciplined you are and how emotionally healthy you or your relationship is. The program suggested times are based on results for the average person who takes their work seriously. Some people need to move more slowly than others and some have more work to do on their relationships and themselves than others, so results can vary in accordance with these variables. With couples work, the longer your relationship has been in a state of disrepair, the longer it will take to heal.
Will I experience past trauma?
We will not be going into detail exploring your past traumas. We focus on where you are in the present based on the trauma you have had in the past. If you have had significant past trauma that is affecting your present healing, you may be referred to a trauma based therapist so your coaching sessions can be more effective.
CAN I SIGN UP FOR MORE SESSIONS?
Absolutely! Personal growth takes time and is a marathon not a sprint. If you still need to work on areas of your life or relationship once your personalized program is complete you can add additional sessions as needed.
